About Bishnu Prasad Rabha

The famous person of Assam Bishnu Prasad Rabha was born on 31st January in the year 1909 in Dhaka of Bangladesh. He was born in a middle class family. His father's name was Gopal Chandra Rabha who was police in the British Army. As he was born on Dhaka so his child hood passed in Dhaka. Then he started his

primary career in benagali medium of Dhaka. After his primary education was completed his family was shifted to a famous town of Assam knows as Tezpur. Then he started his High School Career in Government High School of Tezpur. And after completion of his High School Career he went to Kolkata for higher Study. Then he completed his intermediate career from St. Paul's Mission College of Kolkata. After his intermediate he started his Degree career in the famous Ripon college of Kolkata.

After his Degree he joined as a freedom fighter in respect for Mahatma Gandhi in the year of 1930. Then he wrote many slogans against the British for that the British Police issued a non bailable warrant ticket of Bishnu-Prasad-Rabha

against him. Then he went to Tezpur of Assam again and started his activities there. Then he joined as a freedom fighter in Assam. So he gave almost all his lands to the poor farmers of Assam.

Bishnu Prasad Rabha gave his all rest life for writing songs and books, arts and paintings etc. The famous book written by Bishnu Prasad Rabha are: Axomiya Kristir Somu Abhax, Axomiya Kristi and Mukti Deol etc. After that he worked for popularizing Vaishnavism which was started by Srimanata Shankardev who was also a famous person of Assam. He learnt some religious songs there. The he mainly concentrate to improve the borgeet in Assam. So he became the best Borgeet singer of Assam. After that he became a good painter of Assam. He painted many paintings of Gods and Goddess. His paintings are very beautiful and amazing and most popular in the painting world of India.

He was also a very good Actor in the Assamese film industry. Not only he was an Actor but he was a good film director and a dancer also. He was acted in some films of Assam, such as : Siraj. He was also a good musician and a music directer also. So he was awarded as the famous "Kalaguru" Award by Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan at Varanashi. He was also a great poet also. His best song was "Rabha Sangeet".

In the year 1969 this famous person of Assam was passed away. He gave his entire life for improving the culture of Assam.
