Covering an area of 38.8 sq km. famous Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary situated in Morigaon district of Assam. It is Situated at a distance of 50 km from Guwahati, the Pobitora was declared as a famous wildlife sanctuary in 1971 for protecting the Great Indian one horned Rhinoceros.
Consisting an immense dense space for animal habitating, Pobitora is famous for its great Indian one horned Rhinoceros, as much smaller than Kaziranga national park of Assam. Out of them the other animals including Asiatic Buffalo, Leopard, Wild bear, civet cat etc. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary also houses of more than 2000 migratory birds and various types of reptiles.
Tourist can able to see 80 such Rhinoceros around this Sanctuary.With this, they can observe a large number of Asiatic Buffaloes, Wild bear, Civet cat, Leopard, monkeys and many more.
