About the Satra Temple of Assam
The famous Satra Temple of Assam was established in the 15th century in Majuli Island of Assam. This sastra was constructed to propagate neo Vaishnavism. The word or the name Satras is known as the monasteries in Assam. These great Sastras of Assam helps the human in many ways and show them the true path to progress their life. These Sastras are also increases the knowledge. These Satra culture is spread in many places of Assam, Such as: Madhupur, Majuli, Barpeta and Bardowa. Then in 19th century the Britishers made some churches in Assam.
Now there are about 65 sastras are in Assam which helps the human in many ways and show them the true path to progress their life and gains their knowledge. From these 65 satras 22 satras are developed from Majuli. Many Satras are established by Sankardeva who had made many Cultural Museums in Assam. The famous Sankardev Kalakshetra is one of them. These satras puts a great impact in human life.
