About Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala
Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was the great writer of Assam who had written many types of Dramas, Poems, Songs, Films. This great writer was born on 17 June 1903 in Tamulbari Tea Estate of Assam. Paramananda Agarwala is the father of Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala and Kiranmoyee Agarwala the mother. Nabrangram Agarwala is the forefather of Rupkonwar who hed came to Assam from rajasthan in the year 1811. Then Rupkonwar had started his study career. In the year 1921 he had completed his matriculation and started his college career in the year 1926 in Edinburgh for study in economics. He had completed his college career in the year 1930 and then spent his seven months at UFA studio in Germany for learning in Film Making.
Then he came to India and dedicated himself as a independent warrior and got imprisoned for fifteen months. After this he had made a Studio named as Chitraban Studio at the Bholaguri Tea Estate of Assam and began his film making career. And he made a film named "Joymoti" in the year 1933 which is the first film of Assam. And Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala became the first film maker of Assam. He was the first Assamese who was a Film producer, Film Director, Music composer, Poet, Dramatist and a Writer. In the year 1936 he got married. His wife's name is Devajani Bhuyan who helped him through out his life. And he died on 17 January 1951 at poki of Tezpur of Assam in Cancer.
