There are three bihu festivals are celebrated in Assam. The first Bihu is known as the Bohaag Bihu which falls in the middle of April month. The second bihu is known as the Maagh Bihu which falls in the middle of January month and the third or last bihu is known as the Kaati Bihu which falls in the middle of October. These three bihus were celebrated in Assam from very old days. This festival is also one of the old festival of Assam. But between these bihus the Bohag Bihu is the best and colourful bihu festivl of Assam. So the other name of this Bohag Bihu festival is Rangali Bihu. This festival is celebrated at the beginning of the agricultural season. The main attraction of this Bihu festival is Bihu Dance and the Bihu folk songs. The Bihu songs of the Bihu festival are composed by Dhol, the horn pipe of Buffalo and many local instruments made by Bamboo etc.
