The Asvakranta Temple is located atNorth side of the Capital of Assam, Guwahati. It is one of the greatest and biggest Vishnu shrines of Assam. This temple is situated at the rocky bank of the river Brahmaputra. Any one can go to this temple by any motor boats which are available at Suklesvar Ghat of Guwahati. This temple is famous for its beauty. So it is also the best place for the nature lovers. An one can take the joy of this realistic and the beautiful place of Assam. History of Asvakranta Temple of Assam

The history of Asvakranta Temple is very interesting. Actually the meaning of the word Asvakranta is ascended by horses. It is said that Lord Sri Krishna had come to this place when he killed the Narakasur. The place is related with Krishna and Rukamini story and the horse of lord Krishna. It is said that Asva who is the horse of Lord Krishna was encircled by some enemies of this place. And it is also heard that when Lord Krishna was on his journey from Kundil nagar to his city Dwaraka hehad take some rest on this place because his horse Asva had get tired.
