Garo-Rabha Ethnic clash in Assam-Meghalaya Border

The ethnic clash between Garo and Rabha tribe of neighbouring areas of Assam and Meghalaya has reached almost tenth day, but yet to cool down. Get detailed report of Garo-Rabha clash in Assam Meghalaya border.

The border between Assam and Meghalaya are tensed following ethnic clashes for a couple of days now. The ethnic clash happened in boardering area of East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya and Assam's Goalpara dist. Assam's Rabha tribe and Meghalaya's Garo tribe are becoming hostile to each other and as a result violent situation occured in the border. The region where Rabha Garo violence occured is Mendipathar and Resubelpara of the Assam side of the Meghalaya Assam Border.

The reason of the Garo Rabha clash is still not known but the violence and death rised to an alarming number. Two garo villages Chigisim and Kaldang were set ablaze by the hostile community. And one village of Assam Kasikagra too was burnt by the the other party hostile Garo villagers. And lethal weapons like poisoned darts were used in the clash.

The situation of Tribal clash in Assam are now in control after intervention of Millitary and para-millitary forces. But according to latest news source villagers of the Garo villages evacuated their villages and take shelter at a primary school of another village. According to Minister of Forest of Assam Govt(He is Assam Govt's SPokesperson too) has confessed that minimum 30,000 people have to leave their villages and are taking shelter in 27 relief camps. They will all rehabilitated by the State governments of Assam and Meghalaya once the situation comes back to normalcy.

Both Assam and Meghalaya Government are communicating to solve the issue of ethnic clash in Assam Meghalaya border. And Assam's Chief Minister Mr Tarun Gogoi and Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Agatha K Sangma are discussing the issues with the Home Ministry of Central Govt. This is important to bring back the situation to normalcy, otherwise it may spread to nearby placed of and than it will be impossible to stop the pogrom.
