In 1984,she started working as a teacher in Balak English Medium School,Dibrugarh.Ranjana Sharma learned Satriya Dance from Jatin Goswami and Bhobo Goswami and Manipuri Dance from Madhav Singar.Ranjana Sharma along with Mghai Ojha,Tulsi Ojha and Rang Ojha performed Bihu Dance all over India.Ranjana Sharma along with Surja Foni Sharma,Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha,Bharat Borpujari ,Golap Sharma,Tilak Duwara,Abhai Duwara,Eva Asau,Rebeka Asau,Anil Sharma,Nripen Thakur acted in some of the Dramas named "Amuthi Saul","Kiya","Siraj","Anukampa" etc.Some of the stage Dramas where she acted are "Jallianwalabagh","Karengr Ligiri","Rupahi","Panchakanya"etc.From 1974 onwards Ranjana Sharma acted in various Dramas through Radio telecast. Some of the assamese films where she directed dance are "Ratanlal" and "MadhuKhanda".Ranjana Sharma was also associated with Guwahati Doordarshan.
