Story of the assamese film Basundhara-the Earth: Basundhara is a film based on environmental problems in Assam. As the forest area in the 'state of Jungle' Assam is getting reduced Elephants are coming out of Forests and started disturbing habitations. This film is a story that revolves around such a thrilling story-line of Human-animal conflict.

Basundhara-The Earth won critical acclaim as well as several prizes. First screened at Kolkata Film Festival and then in the Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai. Basundhara is the first Assamese film released in 2010. Now Basundhara will be screened at Nehru Centre in London.


Basundhara is debut venture of Hiren Bora, noted Assamese stage actor as director. Barashrani Bishoya and Saurabh Hazarika were at their best performance in this movie.
