If you are looking for school teaching jobs in Assam you will require to pass the Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) as per the new regulations of the National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE). The Assam state board will conduct the Assam TET exam regularly every year which will be mandatory for a candidate to clear while seeking employment as a school teacher in Assam. The candidates, if unable to clear the test on their first appearance, can go for further attempts as there will be no bar on the number of attempts by a candidate. Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification


The Assam TET exam eligibility criteria is that the aspiring candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary (HS) exam or any equivalent exam from any recognized board with at least 60% marks in order to be eligible for Assam TET application procedure. At the examination the candidate will require to score a minimum of 60% marks in order to get selected which is Assam TET exam minimum eligibility criteria and cut off marks.


Assam TET Exam Detailed Syllabus


The detailed syllabus of the Assam Teachers Eligibility Test has not yet been published by the concerned authority. Nevertheless the syllabus is shortly expected to come out. Roughly we can conjecture that the Assam TET exam syllabus will consist of 5 subjects, comprising of Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. There will be more or less 30 numbers of multiple choice questions or objective MCQ. As has been heard so far, the Assam TET exam time limit is going to be 90 minutes.

Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Exam Structure & Question Pattern


The Assam TET exam structure will comprise of two papers, both carrying 150 marks each. The Assam TET exam question pattern will be objective multiple choice questions or MCQ. There will be different levels of the papers depending on the grade of the teaching job sought as has been mentioned below:

  • Assam TET exam Paper I questions will be for the teachers offering teaching from class 1 to 4

  • Assam TET exam Paper II questions will be for the teachers who have been teaching from classes 6 and 7.

  • Both the papers will be there for the teachers teaching from class 1 to 7.
