In the early years there were no lady photographer in Assam due to some conservative system in our society. Photography was totally male dominated at that time. But , in 1970s or 1980s a photojournalist, Mamata Bhattacharjee who can be consider as the first lady photojournalist of Assam, entered into the field of Journalism. She worked for the "Ajir Asom"; She had to face a lot of barriers in the conservative society but she took all the problems as a challenge. She did hard work for her carrier, but she did not get so much preference as a lady photojournalist in her life of photojorrnalism. Tweet
