Hello everyone, I am from kolkata. I need some help with few assamese words. My friend's father calls him " GUKHANU" he says" MUR GUKHANU" can anyone tell me the meaning of this word. Also" what does the word" BABA" mean in assamese. I have seen a lots of guys have this name.

According to Xobdo.org, Baba means "A man who begets or raises or nurtures a child". Baba is often referred to a Father. But, Mothers call their sons with that name also in a loving way. I don't know the meaning of Gukhanu and most of the persons that I have asked are saying that they have never heard of this word. If you can put it in a statement, we can identify or come to a near meaning of it. Swagat Swargari
