North East Foundation Anounced two new award for literature.

Sahitya Academy award winner of 2009, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora has donated his entire award money along the royalties received till now from this award winning book "KATHA RATNAKAR"
With the objective of providing stimulatory impetus to the development of Assamese literature, two new literacy awards are proposed to be instituted from the current year for authors below 50 years of age. The 1st award shall be known as " FOUNDATION AWARD FOR LITERATURE" to be awarded to the best book published in the preceding 5 years & 2nd award shall be known as " FOUNDATION AWARD FOR BEST FIRST BOOK". Sahitya Akademy award winner of 2009, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora has donated his entire award money along the royalties received till now from this award winning book " KATHA RATNAKAR" towards building the initial award fund. The fund is being further augmented by contribution from well wishers & patrons. Anybody can contributes the award fund. The long list for the award shall be prepared from the nominations received from writers, intellectuals, editors & academicians in the outside the colleges & universities of India. From this long list a short list shall be prepared & it shall be made public. A jury board consisting of eminent littérateurs of the state shall make the final selections. A special prize may be awarded to very young budding writers below 25 in the name of "FOUNDATION NEXT GENERATION WRITER AWARD" at the discretion of the jury.
